Biography

She began her musical studies at the Conservatory “Oscar Esplá” of Alicante and finished them at the Higher Conservatory of Music “Joaquin Rodrigo” in Valencia, obtaining the High Degree in Clarinet, Piano, Composition, Choral Conducting and Orchestra Conducting, with the highest grades. She has done postgraduate courses obtaining the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) from the University of Valencia, Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences.


After studying with Manuel Galduf, she was subsequently assistant director with the “Joven Orquesta de la Generalidad Valenciana (JOGV)” between 1988/2002 conducting twelve different programs with this orchestra. She realized Conducting Courses in Vienna "Wiener Meisterkurs Für Musik 2001", with Salvador Mas and in the “Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena” (Italy) with Yuri Ahronovitch.

She has conducting JOGV at the “Teatro Monumental” in Madrid in a program recorded by Spanish TV, with works by Joaquin Rodrigo in order to commemorate the centenary of his birth. With the Orchestra and Chorus of the Comunidad de Madrid she conducts “Los Gavilanes” in "Teatro Lírico Nacional La Zarzuela", and at the Campoamor Theater in Oviedo. With the Warsaw Opera she has conducting Mozart´s “Le nozze di Figaro”. She made her conducting debut in Montevideo, conducting SODRE Symphony Orchestra in “La vida breve” by Falla, being later she invited in symphonic concerts with Concerto Nº 1 by Johannes Brahms and Raquel Boldorini at the piano, Scheherezade op.35 by Rimsky Korsakov, Rachmaninof, Chaikovsky, with Orquesta Filarmónica of Montevideo.

She has leaded several orchestras including the Chamber Orchestra of Moldova, Festival Orchestra of Sofia, Orchestra of the International Guitar Festival “Francisco Tárrega”, Vetusta Orchestra, in the Auditorium “Príncipe Felipe” in Oviedo, Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, European Symphony Orchestra of Mediterranean, Philharmonic and OSSODRE of Montevideo, CSM Symphony Orchestra of Valencia.

Singers as Montserrat Caballé, Ana María Sánchez, Estrella Estévez, Milagros Martín, Ana Häsler, Itxaro Mentxaca, Jorge de León, Luis Dámaso, Alfonso Múgica… Soloists like Antonio Escobar, Dejan Ivanovic, Josep Puchades, Raquel Boldorini, Carlos Apellániz… have been under her conducting.

Her repertoire includes a wide range that runs from baroque to contemporary music, Bach, Mozart, Haydn o Beethoven, Chaikovsky, Shostakovich, Bartok, Stravinsky, Webern, and the Spanish music for example, Vicente Martín i Soler, Albéniz, Turina, Falla, J. Baguena Soler, Vicente Asensio, Matilde Salvador, Montsalvatge, Amando Blanquer, Antón García Abril, Cesar Cano, Jose Antonio Orts, Voro García, etc,with some absolute premieres.

She was Finalist at the International Conducting Competition in Besancon 2005. She is Chief conductor of the “Camerata Academic” in Valencia since 2004

Professor of Conducting at the Higher Conservatory of Music "Joaquín Rodrigo" in Valencia.
